Inside the Bowie Race Track

I wasn't sure if the following set of pictures were part of Oktoberfest, but they were taken at the Bowie Race Track during the same time period, and there appears to be a guy dressed in German garb in the background of the first photo.

Golfing in Bowie, Spring, 1974

These pictures appear to show the Bowie High golf team at the Bowie Golf & Country Club in the spring of 1974.

A car can be seen in the background driving South on Route 197. Rockledge Elementary School and part of the Rockledge section can also be seen. The house on the left is still on Route 197 today, but it's easy to miss when driving by. The Heartfield Assisted Living building might have been partially visible in this photo if it had existed in 1974.

You can't photograph teenagers without someone flipping you the bird. The houses in the background are probably in either the Rockledge or Whitehall section.

This guy is teeing off right next to Route 197.
