Parts of Bowie under a Water Restriction

A mandatory water restriction was put in place today for all WSSC water customers in Prince George's and Montgomery counties while WSSC performs emergency repairs on a 96 inch water main. Customers are being asked to follow these guidelines.

• Stop all outside water use --no watering lawns, no washing cars, no topping off swimming pools
• Use water only as necessary
• Limit flushing toilets (do not flush after every use)
• Limit using washing machines and dishwashers (wash full loads only)

The restriction affects only portions of Bowie. City of Bowie water customers are not affected. According to a City of Bowie Web posting, the following neighborhoods are not subject to the water restriction:

• Chapel Forge
• Derbyshire
• Forest Drive (water only)
• Foxhill
• Glenridge
• Gradys Walk
• Heather Hills
• Hilltop Shopping Center
• Idlewild
• Kenilworth
• Longridge
• Market Place Shopping Center
• Meadowbrook
• Overbrook
• Rockledge
• Somerset
• Tulip Grove
• Victoria Heights
• Yorktown
• Whitehall
